Michael I Rangabè was married to Procopia, the daughter of Nicephorus. In 813 the Byzantine army after early success was defeated (likely by treachery) at Versinikia by the Bulgars. Michael was forced to abdicate and enter a monastery while his three sons were castrated.

BCV1621

Very rare the name Michael on both sides.
